The Power of Sharing With Digital Marketing
When I first started, I was totally focused on getting business from my digital marketing efforts. It seemed that the other side of the coin was social media, which I really wanted to get involved with. After a few years, I realized that it wasn’t really “social media,” it was a much better and simpler way to promote and build relationships with other marketers.
I realized I didn’t have to focus so much on brand awareness, either. My goal was simply to build relationships with others who were trying to do the same thing as me. I could help them get the ball rolling and leverage that team energy to build my business.
One great company that I learned about recently actually taught me to throw away the marketing strategy paper and start focusing on the power of sharing. They demonstrated to me a concept they call “e-slicing.” You see, there are certain ways you can build your digital marketing campaign that will not only help you build your relationship with others, but also help you get the word out about your business. This is something most people fail to realize.
For example, you may be using video marketing to spread the word about your business, but you are not using it to help increase your conversion rate. It is simply a good marketing tool for doing so. If you focus your efforts on building out your relationship with your audience and allowing them to be part of the process, you will begin to see results sooner than you would otherwise.
Here’s another example. Let’s say you are promoting an eBook that was written by someone else, but that you want to share with others. You may be doing this without realizing that you are creating two separate accounts and that these two accounts have totally different objectives.
EBooks are designed to be read on a variety of devices. The truth is that if you just focus on one marketing channel you’re not maximizing your profits.
Let’s assume that you want to go to a local party with a friend who you don’t know very well. You want to make sure that you’re going to the right place and that you meet up with them.
In order to make this happen, you need to understand the type of events that are being held at each location. You want to be able to plan accordingly. This means having a GPS device on your phone that will allow you to identify the exact address of the event.
Once you know exactly where the event is, you can do the search engine optimization that is needed to have your videos get picked up in Google. You can also use social media to engage and establish relationships with others who want to participate in the event as well.
Find a few people who are interested in the event and give them some incentive to help you promote it. Make it a contest to win tickets to the event or a certain percentage off the venue. This creates a win-win situation and increases the chances that you will get someone to help you out.
After the event, you will be able to hand out coupons and other complimentary items to your followers. This builds even more goodwill with other marketers who are sharing a similar theme with you. The next time they come to your site, they will find it just as great as the first time.
If you are thinking about getting into your own digital products, this is a great way to promote your business. Just make sure you consider every single aspect of the process before you jump in. This is not about “brand building” but about doing business with others who are passionate about what they are doing.
